When you enter the D-Day Paratroopers Historical Center, you can see a wall covered with carved stones with the names and the units of the airborne veterans.

Created in honor and in memory of the paratroopers that have fought during the Second World War, this memorial makes the D-Day Paratroopers Historical Center a unique place of remembrance and contemplation.

The D-Day Paratroopers Historical Center gathers the worldwide largest image database of the Second World War about the airborne troops during their different combat missions on the European territory.

Shared through several thematic publications, these images are presented according to the location, the operation or the unit. These deluxe editions are published by the D-Day Paratroopers Historical Center and are available on " www.paratrooper.fr." for France and on  "www.d-day-publishing.com" for other countries..

The D-Day Paratrooper Historical Center also includes many archives on U.S. airborne troops. We've posted two types of archives. So you can find the names of the paratroopers of the 82nd and 101st Airborne Division who fought during the war as roster or loading manifest. Fell free to search for a relative, friend or any other veteran.

D-Day Experience

Dead Man's Corner

Dead Man’s Corner is a highly symbolic battle site. At this crossroads over the marsh, on the direct access road between Utah Beach and Carentan, a bourgeois villa is to be seen. It was used on 6 June 1944 as headquarters and aid post by the German paratroopers. It will then be used as command post by the American paratroopers..

The collections of the Historical Center of Carentan reflect and support the Museum’s mission to throw light on the history of the Airborne Divisions during the Second World War. They have been enlarged for more than 30 years to satisfy the visitors.
